Are Women's Lives In East And Southeast Asia Better Now Than They Were In The Past?
Number of pages:

ABSTRACT:
9 pages in length. Women have long suffered indignities at the hands of their male counterparts. That the female gender continues to succumb to patriarchal oppression in many parts of the world is indicative of fear and intimidation inherent to gender dominated societies. Examining the progress made in East Asia and Southeast Asia finds that when comparing Taiwan and Malaysia, only one of the two countries has shown any indication of gender respect and equity. Bibliography lists 10 sources.
