Breaking Up Hanson PLC
Number of pages:

ABSTRACT:
An 8 page paper discussing the growth and breakup of the former international conglomerate. Hanson is living in a high-tech world with a decidedly low-tech focus of brick and gravel. The company’s focus on Great Britain and the US also prevents its highway-building operations from being as profitable as they could be in less developed countries. The paper includes a SWOT analysis and recommends that Hanson either move its brick and gravel operations to a less developed area of the world or use some of its $13 billion cash reserves to create another focused arm that better fits the mature economies of Great Britain and the US, the countries of its primary focus. Bibliography lists 11 sources.
