The Amish, whose culture has been defined as living simply within an otherwise complicated world, have eschewed such damaging progression, choosing instead to maintain their simple and fulfilling existence amidst constant scorn and contempt from the outside society, a reality of culture conflict they have come to accept as an intrinsic component of being a tolerant, cohesive and amenable culture amidst an assemblage of intolerant, disjointed and self-seeking societies.
