Florida State Laws: Underage Alcohol Consumption/Possession And Public Urination
Number of pages:

ABSTRACT:
5 pages in length. Florida's state laws pertaining to underage drinking/possession and public urination are equivalent to most other states across the country, in that the ultimate goal is to impart monetary fines and possible jail time in order to encourage offenders to abide by the laws of a civilized society. The extent to which Floridians must grapple with college students consuming alcoholic beverages under age twenty-one and urinating in public is both grand and far-reaching due to the disproportionately high percentage of university attendees; that laws are more forcefully enforced speaks to the need for law enforcement officials to maintain a stronger control over these undesirable behaviors. Student conduct codes are put in place as a manner by which to quell the presence of such crimes as underage drinking and public urination, however, campus laws only go so far to stop the undesirable or offensive behavior.
