ABSTRACT:
An 8 page research paper that summarizes, compares and contrasts two texts on geographic regional studies: D.W. Meinig's The Shaping of America A Geographical Perspective on 500 years of History, Vol. 1 Atlantic America, 1492-1800 and The Making of Urban America, edited by Raymond A. Mohl. This comparison looks at how various authors view spatial and social organization in American society at two levels, which are examining territory at large and the political economic, social and cultural aspects of different regions.
