Government Spending: Technology Sector:
Number of pages:

ABSTRACT:
A 6 page paper discussing the idea of whether state governments need to take on subsidizing roles in the technology sector. The paper discusses the development of TeflonĀ® and its later economic importance to the general economy, and takes the position that state government's role is best left at that which creates a business-friendly environment into which businesses want to move. Innovation and funding are the two primary ingredients of technological advancement, and the relationship that has grown up between the private sector and the federal government is sufficient. The established pattern works well, and the state has no reason to get involved on the same level. Bibliography lists 5 sources.
