ABSTRACT:
A 9 page paper discussing some of the problems that the self employed face in dealing with their own HR issues. Much of the paper is an interview with an entrepreneur based in Raleigh, North Carolina, who began working from her car trunk in 1976 to sell her business 20 years later. As the entrepreneur suggests, ignorance of employment law can be problematic for the self employed. All need to ensure that they learn at least the basics of what is acceptable and what is not.
