ABSTRACT:
A 4 page book review. Formally entitled the European Recovery Program, but popularly known as The Marshall Plan, this program of aid was formulated by the United States in order help Europe recover economic prosperity after World War II. In his text The Marshall Plan: America, Britain and the Reconstruction of Western Europe 1947-1962, historian Michael Hogan offers a richly detailed study and analysis of what the plan involved, how it was implemented and also how it met the vast majority of its goals, which supports Hogan's major theme, which is that the Marshall Plan was the most successful peacetime foreign policy initiative carried out by the US in the twentieth century.
