ABSTRACT:
A 5 page overview of the phenomena of child abuse and the considerations this abuse presents in the community health care environment. The author of this paper contends that while some may question the appropriateness of nursing intervention in anything but the medical aspects of this phenomena, it quickly becomes apparent that nursing intervention has out of necessity evolved to not only provide medical treatment for the abused but to a position of working with law enforcement personnel to identify the problem and to eliminate it where possible.
