Legal Issues in Commercial Use of Outer Space
Number of pages:
12
ABSTRACT:
A 12 page paper discussing the evolution and current state of commercial use of outer space, for the purpose of determining an appropriate governing body. There were more than 3,000 active, functioning satellites orbiting the Earth in early 2008, more than 1,000 originating in nations such as Mexico, Germany and Algeria – both developed and developing nations. The paper concludes that though the United Nations is imperfect, it likely is the best solution for international oversight and accountability. Bibliography lists 8 sources.
