ABSTRACT:
A 10 page paper. The Military (MIL) Standard (SD) 882B System Safety Program Requirements is issued by the Department of Defense and is to be used by all departments and agencies of the Department of Defense. Within this document are more than 200 tasks a contractor must do, although the contractor may select the tasks that are most appropriate for the project. The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Aerospace Recommended Practice (ARP) Guidelines and Methods for Conducting the Safety Assessment Process on Civil Airborne Systems and Equipment is found in SAE ARP4761. These guidelines explain the assessment process to assure compliance with the safety standards. These documents are explained with examples. Bibliography lists 2 sources.
