ABSTRACT:
This is a 5 page paper on Machiavelli and his theory of the ideal leader. Niccolo Machiavelli was born in 1469 in Florence, Italy and was one of the more distinguished thinkers to come out of the Renaissance period and his work is still often used to describe political leaders to this day. Machiavelli was well versed in the political arena and he composed several philosophies in which he described what he considered to be the most effective ways in which to run a country. In describing leadership, Machiavelli referred more than once that a leader of a country is most powerful if he acts immorally, because if he were to act ethically, it would lead the leadership and the country open to enemies who “will destroy all possibility of an ethical world”.
