ABSTRACT:
A 4 page paper discussing nursing’s four metaparadigms and the central role of nursing. Certainly the nurse has physical responsibilities that vary with the area in which s/he works, but each patient is an individual. Nursing is one of the few professions that continually assesses its effectiveness, professionalism and true worth. This constant attention to ways to improve both patient care and nursing quality creates an environment that improves continually, without losing the ground already gained in the past.
