Prisoner Rights
Number of pages:

ABSTRACT:
12 pages in length. When an individual commits a crime, the legal system prosecutes the criminal and ultimately incarcerates him. The very foundation of such a sequence of events is meant to humble the offender and remove any social rights he had while on the outside. That prisoners believe they are entitled to any basic rights while in prison is a concept that has infuriated law-abiding, upstanding citizens for decades, particularly because such rights -- as education, entertainment, physical fitness and trade instruction -- are not offered in such a capacity to the rest of society as readily as it is to prisoners. The writer discusses prison inmates and human rights. Bibliography lists 10 sources.
