Red Light Cameras: Policy Argument
Number of pages:

ABSTRACT:
10 pages in length. A combination of unconstitutionality, profiteering and Orwellian implication has both civil rights leaders and the general public incensed over the newest technological appliance to help catch traffic signal speeders: red light cameras. The concept is reasonable in theory, however, when theory became reality, people began to realize just how much of a Big Brother issue this particular type of surveillance actually is. As well, the strong motive to generate tickets for profit, along with the obvious potential for camera malfunction, has presented the entire aspect of red light cameras a questionable – if not suspect – approach to maintaining an orderly commute. Bibliography lists 10 sources.
