ABSTRACT:
A 9 page review of the content and presentation style of this, now out of print book, a detailed account of the life and accomplishments of the Confederate general, leader, and statesman of the mid-Nineteenth Century United States. The author of this paper contends that while providing detailed information regarding Lee’s military accomplishments during the Civil War, this book distinguishes itself most in providing considerable information regarding the background and family history of Lee, his early career experiences, and the other factors which undoubtedly combined to make him the exemplary commander he would become. Bibliography lists two sources.
