ABSTRACT:
A 4 page research paper that discusses the philosophy of educator and child psychologist James P. Comer, who argues that child and adolescent development are integral factors in achieving school success and that innovative approaches to curriculum, instruction and assessment will have little chance of being effective if these factors are overlooked (Comer 757). This discussion offers a brief examination of Comer’s School Development Program (SDP), which has been proven to be effective. Bibliography lists 4 sources.
