Sociology As A Discipline
Number of pages:

ABSTRACT:
5 pages in length. The discipline of sociology evolved as a means by which to address the ever-changing aspects of humanity's enlightenment as individuals and collective beings. Its emergence in the eighteenth century correlates with the evolution of man's acceptance of ideas that had long been preventing this element of growth and change. According to Randall Collins and Michael Makowsky's The Discovery of Society, the acceptance of sociology as its own discipline was a long and arduous effort; while sociology may not be an impossible science, it is a very difficult one. Bibliography lists 6 sources.
