ABSTRACT:
A 9 page paper discussing three sociological perspectives
Some still see sociology as a discipline trying to “find itself,” but that view is most common among those who fail to understand the wide variety of sociological perspectives and their applicability today’s changing environment. The purpose here is to discuss the concepts and some of the theorists of Neo-functionalism, Structuralism and Symbolic Interactionism. The theorists discussed are Talcott Parsons, Robert K. Merton, Claude Lévi-Strauss, Louis Althusser, Pierre Bourdieu, Charles Horton Cooley, George Herbert Mead and Erving Goffman. Bibliography lists 11 sources.
