ABSTRACT:
A 4 page review of an article by Richard S. DeFranks and John M. Ivancevich published in the August 1, 1998 edition of “The Academy of Management Executive”. The authors note that stress in the workplace can be caused by a variety of factors. One of these is the increase in technology. The authors point out, however, that all too often human resource directors are reluctant to even raise the issue of workplace stress in terms of offering stress management courses for fear of opening themselves to potential lawsuits. This is not only impractical but potentially perilous. Bibliography lists 2 sources.
