ABSTRACT:
This 9 page paper considers the reason behind the Korean currency crisis in 1997. The hypothesis that is argued is not the conventional and traditionally excepted theory that it was over-regulation that caused the collapse, to the contrary this paper argues that it was under-regulation, of an inexperienced government. The role of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in the crisis is also considered. The MLA style bibliography cites 8 sources.
