This 50 page paper examines the management and public legal pillars of European Central Bank (ECB) and US Federal Reserve (The Fed) contributing to their credibility and independence in regards to decision making. The paper focuses on the public management policies used by the ECB and the US Fed in achieving credibility and independence that they enjoy today briefly including the legal backing of the positions. The paper also looks at the differences in their policies and structures and what they can inherit from each other to reinforce their stance in credibility in front of the public and the financial markets.
