The Identification Of Tensions: Useful To An Understanding Of Cities?
Number of pages:

ABSTRACT:
9 pages in length. Understanding the impact tensions have upon the development of cities is to realize the fundamental components that create the need for municipalities in the first place. Tensions reflect the building blocks of growth and expansion; without tensions, there would be no singular force strong enough to warrant such urban progress. As such, cities are built upon social, political, economic and cultural tensions that serve to formulate both structure and evolution of a given community, a point duly noted in Massey et al's City Worlds. Bibliography lists 8 sources.
