ABSTRACT:
This 15 page paper provides an overview of the MMPI-2, the MMPI-2, the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory, Second Edition. The MMPI was created to assess personality characteristics with the expectation that specific personality outcomes could provide insight into psychological and psychosocial functioning. The MMPI-2, the revised second edition, was first published in 1989 and is an instrument commonly utilized for assessing psychopathology, including personality disorders. This research study provides an introduction to the test, an assessment of developmental and structural issues with the test, and its overall utility. In addition, this study also integrates a critical analysis of this assessment through the views of a variety of different researchers. Bibliography lists 15 sources.
