Man's thirst for technological advancement is insatiable, a reality that is readily illustrated by the massive changes, improvements and discoveries that were made in the twentieth century alone. That relative short period of time on the human timeline depicts a planetary species whose quest to improve itself knows no bounds. The extent to which technology has infiltrated virtually every aspect of human existence is both grand and far-reaching; that man has had to forfeit some of his inherent freedom in exchange for such tremendous progress speaks to a compromise many people do not realize they have made. While the claim is made that politics and philosophy do indeed benefit human freedom, the definitive response to technology's impact is still undecided. Bibliography lists 13 sources.
