ABSTRACT:
5 pages in length. Thomas Kuhn is undoubtedly the most influential figure in the philosophy of science in the second half of the twentieth century. Examining his perspective as to how scientific theories emerge, develop and demise over time, the student will want to discuss two critical points to Kuhn's philosophy: 1) different people are likely to apply standards of reason in different ways, and 2) doing so reflects an important factor with regard to the extended development of scientific understanding. Bibliography lists 10 sources.
