Thoreau And McGregor Thematic Comparison
Number of pages:
4
ABSTRACT:
4 pages in length. McGregor's thematic approach to lecture 09 follows the progression of environmentalism as it has spanned decades; citing those whose influences have served to pave the way for myriad thoughts, theories and philosophies, McGregor's speech establishes the foundation for why environment stewardship has so many connotations. However, the theme most close associated with Thoreau's "Solitude" is that of mankind's inability to neither understand nor appreciate nature as an inherent value unto itself, incapable of reveling in its innate glory as a viable companion within its silence where another human being woefully fails. Bibliography lists 2 sources.
