U.S. Military Peacekeeping Verses National Defense
Number of pages:
8
ABSTRACT:
An 8 page discussion of the inherent differences between the traditional U.S. military role of national defense and that of international peacekeeping. Asserts that it is our duty as the most powerful nation in the world to assist in international peacekeeping. Distinguishes between our actions in events like the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the September 11, 2001 destruction of the World Trade Center, and even the American Revolution and world peacekeeping missions that we engaged in the Persian Gulf War and Kosovo. Contends that it is the responsibility of the U.S., however, to continue to act as a world peace keeper. Bibliography lists 5 sources.
