ABSTRACT:
This 12 page paper examines and compares two regeneration projects, on at the former docklands in Gateshead, near Newcastle, where the development has been spurred on by the commission of The Angel of the North and the opening of the Baltic and other cultural developments that have served to attract commercial investors to stimulate economic growth. This is contrasted to Paris where a large areas has been set aside for the development of a business park and shops. The paper looks at both projects, considers the way they are being undertaken a d looks at the similarities and differences. The bibliography cites 10 sources.
